Accesibility


In the design of the Institutional Repository of the Regional Health System of the Community of Madrid, the necessary measures have been taken to guarantee accessibility to the contents, achieving a perceptible, operable, understandable and robust website according to the Content Accessibility Guidelines in Web (WCAG) 2.0, published as a Recommendation of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) of December 11, 2008.

The user interface complies with Royal Decree 1112/2018, of September 7, on accessibility of websites and applications for mobile devices in the public sector.

Level of Accessibility

The Repository meets the level of accessibility AA thus the website meets all the Criteria of Conformity of Levels A and AA, or provides an alternative version according to the Level AA.

Features

According to the level of conformity AA, these are some of the most significant functionalities of the Institutional Repository of the Regional Health System of the Community of Madrid in terms of accessibility:

Contrast (minimum)
The visual presentation of text and text images have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5: 1, except in the following cases:
  • Large texts: Large texts and large text images have a contrast ratio of at least 3: 1.
  • Incidental: Texts or text images that are part of an inactive component of the user interface, that are simple decoration, that are not visible to anyone or are part of an image that contains other significant visual elements, have no contrast requirements.
  • Logos: Text that is part of a logo or brand name has no minimum contrast requirements.

Text size change
With the exception of subtitles and text images, all text can be adjusted without technical aids up to 200 percent without losing content or functionality.

Multiple ways
More than one path is provided to locate a web page within a set of web pages, except when the page is the result, or an intermediate step, of a process.

Headers and tags
The headings and labels describe the theme or purpose.

Visible focus
Any keyboard operable user interface has a way of operating in which the keyboard focus indicator is visible.

Language of the parties
The language of each passage or phrase in the content can be determined by software, except for proper names, technical terms, words in an undetermined language and words or phrases that have become a natural part of the surrounding text.

Consistent navigation
The navigation mechanisms that are repeated on multiple web pages within a set of web pages always appear in the same relative order each time they are repeated, unless the change is caused by the user himself.

Coherent identification
Components that have the same functionality within a set of web pages are identified consistently.
